Stone Canyon lies adjacent to The Patriot Golf Club, a unique golfing destination that has already received national recognition for both the course and its support of our military patriots.

The Patriot Golf Club is the product of a chance meeting between Major Dan Rooney, founder of The Folds of Honor Foundation, and David Charney, Co-Developer of the Stone Canyon Development. Both men were late substitutes in a charity golf tournament and happened to be paired together. During that fateful round of golf, Dan discussed his desire to build a home course for his charitable foundation, The Folds of Honor, and David told him of a piece of land in Stone Canyon where he envisioned a golf course. It was during those few hours the idea of The Patriot was born.

The next great stroke of luck was commissioning Robert Trent Jones, Jr. to design the course. Over the next two years, The Patriot was developed. The diversity of the terrain was uncovered and shown to flow through four distinct and breathtaking topographies: lowland marsh, woodland meadows, high prairie, and dramatic limestone canyons. The rock-laden terrain required importing 10-inches of sandy-loam top soil. Irrigation was literally carved into the land through limestone.

This Robert Trent Jones, Jr. course has 19 holes (two #6’s), each designed to test a players skill and resolve. Each hole bears the name of an American patriot, while the design of the course displays a great appreciation for the beauty of our American heartland. True to the natural contours of the site, the golfer will experience 7,158 yards of Oklahoma’s lowland marshes, mature woodlands, upland prairies and dramatic limestone canyons. Awe-inspiring views, lush fairways, white sand bunkers and fast, firm greens offer a challenging golf experience and honors the traditions of the game.
